Foxhole Armor’s Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where are they made?

A: Our plates are proudly manufactured in Phoenix, AZ, with American-made steel.

Q: What are they made of?

A: Our plates are made from heat-tempered, mill-certified, ballistic armor plate.

Q: What is the total weight?

A: The Patriot Home Defense Set weighs in at approximately 22lbs with all four plates. While this may seem like a lot, once the plate carrier is properly fitted to your body, the weight is evenly distributed over your torso, making it feel even lighter.

Q: What size are the plates and carrier?

A: Our standard plate carrier adjusts from Medium to a large XXL. Plates are 10×12 with an ambidextrous shooter’s cut (cutouts at the top left and top right for comfort and unobstructed rifle shooting.)

Q: How many rounds can it take?

A: With the number of variables such as type of ammo, firearm, angle, etc., there is no solid answer to that question, but we have had up to 30 rounds fired into a plate with zero penetration in past testing

Q: Is there a warranty?

A: No. Our armor has a shelf-life of 20 years, but due to the nature of the product there are no returns or warranties granted, neither expressly nor implied. We regularly lab test our steel, as well as shoot plates from each batch of steel, to ensure the quality of our product.

However, if you are shot while wearing our armor, we would love your testimonial. In exchange for your testimonial, a copy of your police report (to prove you didn’t shoot yourself or have a buddy shoot you), and shipping costs, we will gladly replace the shot plate.

Q: Do you give refunds?

A: NO REFUNDS. Manufacturer defects will be replaced. Damaged items do not qualify.

Q: What is the level/rating?

A: Our plates meet NIJ specifications for level III armor, providing multi-hit protection against ammunition up to 7.62 x 51 mm, 149-grain M80 FMJ rounds.

Q: Do you only have one color for Plate carriers?

A: Yes. We focus on the manufacturing of high-quality plates. Since the beginning, at gun shows, the plate carriers were our alternative to shopping bags. Rather than a plastic bag or box of plates, we’d send the plates home in a high-quality plate carrier.

Q: Can anyone buy it?

A: Body armor is legal to own for anyone who isn’t a felon. We will only ship to customers inside the contiguous U.S., excluding Connecticut or New York. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to residents of Connecticut or New York due to local laws. Non-law enforcement residents of Connecticut and New York are prohibited from ordering and receiving body armor via mail. We WILL NOT ship to residents of Connecticut or New York. Please review our Terms & Conditions as well as your local laws before purchasing.

Q: What makes Foxhole Armor different than other brands?

A: Our Patriot Home Defense Set includes the features that the average homeowner ought to have in a set of home defense armor. For example, our breastplates include the multi-hit curve for comfort and an anti-spall/frag coating to help prevent injury from bullet fragmentation or plate spalling. We also include trauma pads with every set to reduce blunt force trauma from high caliber rounds. Other brands will start off showing you the bare minimum to “save you money” at the cost of your life. Then they would have additional charges for each of these options. We ONLY offer these life-saving features in our bundles because we feel it’s the right thing to do for our customers.

Q: Do you sell anything to cover your junk?

A: No, sorry. We specialize in keeping you alive, not keeping you from getting shot. Don’t do anything that makes someone want to shoot you in your junk. If you find that excessive amounts of people are trying to shoot you, or your junk, please consider some lifestyle changes.

Q: Is there anything else you recommend I get?

A: We always recommend adding a tourniquet & blood type patches to your body armor set. Our plate carrier is equipped with plenty of PALS webbing, so you can attach any MOLLE capable gear, such as magazine pouches or first aid kits.

Q: How much is shipping?

A: That depends on the product. The Patriot Home Defense set currently ships for $25. One full set is shipped in 2 packages. One will contain the plate set and the other will have the plate carrier. The reason for this is that shipping together can result in smashed buckles.

Q: Do you deal with government contracts?

A: Currently, we do not. Our focus is on getting body armor on American civilians.
